Can I dig my own basement by renting equipment?
You can, but we don't recommend it for a few reasons. Excavating a basement is more than digging a hole. You need to understand how to properly work with the soil to ensure proper drainage and structural integrity. Missing those elements can lead to serious future issues.
Could I turn my crawlspace into a full basement?
In many cases, yes! We can excavate basements under existing homes, however it is naturally more work than a basement for a new home. That's because there's many steps involved and it's a delicate project. But, for the right situation, it can be a great way to expand living space.
Do I need to do any preparation before you visit?
Depending on the conditions on your site, you may need to move certain obstructions so we can safely navigate. We'll perform a site visit prior to beginning work which identifies any preparation you may need to do. In most cases, it's very minor and easy!
How deep are you able to excavate?
Our equipment is able to excavate as deep as your basement needs to go. Most basements are anywhere from 6 to 10 feet below ground level, a depth which our machines can easily reach. During consultation we'll determine which equipment is right for your project.
What happens if you find underground lines or pipes?
Before we do any excavation work our team checks for the locations of underground utilities. However, there are times where a utility may not be marked on drawings. If we discover any unmarked infrastructure, we'll immediately stop to resolve the situation before continuing.
